Interior Mouthpiece Design: Revolutionary True Large Chamber
Our first patent was for the internal shape of our mouthpieces. Our interior design patent encompasses our True Large Chambers, a step baffle, and rounded inner-side-walls. These complex interior designs make our mouthpieces very special. It is these complex designs combined with unparalleled state-of-the-art machining that give all our mouthpieces their incredibly fat sound throughout the entire range of the horn, effortless playability, and their sense of magic.
Liberty Ligature: Integrated 2-Point Ligature
Theo Wanne’s saxophone ligature design creates incredibly low surface area contact with the body of the mouthpiece. The use of dove-tail screws allow the ligature to vibrate freely, improving the overall sound of the mouthpiece. This unique design fixes the ligature to the saxophone body, holding it securely in place even during reed changes. This fixed position, however, is moveable to other fixed positions on the mouthpiece body.
Reed Replacer Cap: Mouthpiece Protection when Not in Use.
Theo Wanne spent over a decade repairing mouthpieces for top musicians around the world. One of the largest problems people encountered was having their mouthpieces damaged by the cap itself when they were dropped. The Wanne Reed Replacer Cap is Theo Wanne’s solution to that problem.
All saxophone and clarinet mouthpiece caps made in history have been held in place by being pressure fit over the ligature and mouthpiece body. The caps often fall off, or get jammed against the tip of the mouthpiece when it is dropped. The Reed Replacer Cap is unique. It replaces the reed when the reed is removed, and is held in place by the ligature itself. Since the cap is held on by the ligature itself, it is without a doubt the most secure mouthpiece cap in the world.
