Mar 1	We are proud to announce that the legendary Wolfe Taninbaum is now available to do custom refacing. Wolfe Taninbaum, the designer of the original Bari reeds and mouthpieces was a musician who played under the stage name of Wolfe Tayne for such famous orchestras as Les Brown, Benny Goodman and Jimmy Dorsey. He also sat in with the CBS and NBC orchestras. In 1952 he developed his first synthetic reed. Wolfe's innovations didn't stop there. He also helped create a unique facing for alto and tenor mouthpieces that Otto Link applied to his larger chamber blanks, calling it the "WT." You can now work one on one with the legendary Wolfe to get your mouthpieces custom faced at his home in Florida. He is also accepting mail-ins.
Feb 20	Jeff Coffin (of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones) AMMA sound clip added Jeff Coffin playing Body and Soul. Jeff plays solo-tenor saxophone on the classic ballad Body and Soul. June 7	Theo Wanne Launches New Website Today Wanne, Inc. launched the new Theo Wanne Classic Mouthpieces Website. The introduction of theowanne.com, represents the debut of Theo Wanne Classic Mouthpieces to the saxophone world and the introduction of the much anticipated AMMA mouthpiece as well as other Theo Wanne saxophone accessories. In addition, the website features extensive resource sections dedicated to saxophone mouthpieces, Theo Wanne's personal blog, and a web forum dedicated to the discussion of mouthpieces.
