The University "Otto Link" section describes a 1930s to 1950s trend from longer facings and narrow tip openings (3 & 4) to medium facings and wider tip openings. Per the "Facings" section, this was apparently so players could get as big a sound but with less effort.

PARVATI, in Hindu Lore, is the sweet, loving, and beautiful aspect of the Divine Mother AMMA.We built the PARVATI mouthpiece to exemplify
these traits! I dedicate our third TRUE large chamber tenor mouthpiece to her.
The PARVATI has a low baffle similar to a vintage Otto Link tenor saxophone mouthpiece. It is big and deep to create a rich resonating response.
