Now onto the playing...I gotta say this is EXACTLY what I have been searching for. A big-bore MP with some top end edge when pushed, but I find the bottom end especially pleasing. I've usually struggled with low B, but not here...no gurgle, just a lovely rich tone. The harmonics pop out with just a little embouchure change and the mid-range is lovely. I'm playing it on my Selmer Series III and it is a match made in heaven. Does a tenor MP get any better than this? It might not work for everyone, but for me this is the top of the class, the pinnacle of my search for the best tenor mouthpiece."

The flexibility makes it my mouthpiece of choice regardless of the musical situation. I play a Keilwerth sx90r shadow tenor, and i believe i can say that for the first time I'm one hundred percent happy with this instrument. Its overall big sound and spot-on intonation have always been the Keilwerth's strongest points for me, but now i am also able to manipulate the sound in all the directions i want to, making it go where i want to go.
I've had the AMMA for a week now, and it's been to the theatre - singin' in the rain - five times; to a jazz quartet gig; to a loud horn section gig and to two differents studios. It's been a busy week for sure. and hey, several of the sound engineers have pointed out what I already know - the tenor sounds better than ever. So the KALI can only be a bonus now... big smile."

"The AMMA plays beautifully. It is far and away the best mouthpiece that I have ever played on the tenor sax, and I've pretty much played them all. Congratulations to you for producing such an awesome mouthpiece. For years I've been looking for a mouthpiece that has the tonal color and balance of an Otto Link but with the power of a high baffle mouthpiece. It was always a trade off - the Link had a beautiful tone and bottom end but lacked the power to project in louder situations, and whilst high baffle m/pieces had a lot of power, it was always at the expense of tone color, the bottom end and sub-toning capabilities.
The Amma does it all - the proverbial "Link on steroids" - in fact, in mouthpiece technology, it could be thought of as the missing link (pun intended). The tone, scale and feel are even from top to bottom, the sound fat and rich yet with enough edge to cut through when desired, and with tons of power when required. Also the tone remains constant from pianissimo to fortissimo. Thanks Theo, my search is finally over!"

"Y'know my original intent was to pick one from among these three mouthpieces. After I've tried them, and tried them again with different reeds, and in different acoustic surroundings, I like them all! These are really terrific mouthpieces, and the musicians I work and play with all really enjoy the sound I'm getting when I play the AMMA tenor pieces. I've received many positive comments!! I played Otto links for many, many years and these AMMA's are kinda like Links on steroids! I can't pick between them. This was not my intent but, I'm gonna go for it!
Maybe someday I'll decide that one of them is not getting used so much. At that point, I'm sure that I can find a home for it. (Believe me, I've already had offers.) I know I'll probably use the 6* for small group acoustic, really quiet gigs like my guitar sax duos. And the 7* and 8 will see more use in the large ensemble settings: big band and commercial type gigs. FYI: I own and play an old Mark VI tenor (78K), Yanagisawa 9937 tenor, and a naked lady Conn 10M. The mouthpieces work great on all!! The sound is especially HUGE on the Yani and Conn, but it's also huge on the MK VI. So, I'm very happy with all three pieces! Thanks Tom, and Thanks Theo, you're a genius!
