SERIAL NUMBERS
The model name of the mouthpiece is between the bands of the shank, while the serial number is between the table and shank. The serial number will tell you the mouthpiece's tip opening, exactly what date it was made, how many mouthpieces where made in that run, and specifically which mouthpiece in that run is your mouthpiece.
